The Story
Claptrap has been my household's favorite robot for years, so it was only a matter of time before I made him into a work of art you could hang in your home. The Last CL4P-TP is an original hand-cut Claptrap fan art inspired by the Borderlands video game series. This piece started as a plain sheet of wood, and was hand-cut on a scroll saw. Each individual piece - Claptrap's dents and dings included - were carved and shaped with a rotary tool. His paint is meant to reflect the harsh world he lives in. Our enthusiastic robot is still smiling despite his dents, scrapes, rust, and peeling paint. 
 
This piece is built to hang and make anyone who sees it smile. He's everyone's favorite for a reason.
 
It's All About the Details
I could've stopped at "wood Claptrap" and called it done. But that's no fun.
This guy has a real glass eyeball, real wire accents, and real screws worked into the piece, not just carved out of wood or painted on.  Wood grain and small imperfections are part of the process, making this hand-cut piece truly one-of-a-kind. 

The Last CL4P-TP is hand cut at the scroll saw, sanded, and painted by me, one layer at a time, then finished off with the glass eye and hardware that make him feel like he rolled right off the assembly line at the Hyperion manufacturing plant.
